Scope and operator

This Privacy Policy applies to the Dot marketing website, direct communications with LocalGhost Consulting (collectively, “we,” “us,” or “our”), and the Dot desktop application. It does not govern third-party websites, payment providers, download hosts, local model runtimes, or app stores, which operate under their own terms and privacy notices.

Dot’s application architecture is local-first. During ordinary use, tasks, routines, reminders, calendar data, conversations, settings, and approved memory are stored on your device and are not sent to us.

Information we handle

Cookies and analytics

We do not add advertising pixels, behavioral analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies to this website. The hosting, payment, download, or security providers may use essential technologies and process normal request information under their own policies.

This website is designed to be hosted by Vercel. Vercel states that it may process end-user request information such as IP address, device and browser details, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, diagnostics, and server logs. See the Vercel Privacy Notice.

Sensitive organizer information

Dot may hold sensitive information you choose to enter, including information about health, relationships, finances, or daily life. The application stores that content locally during ordinary use. Dot does not silently turn conversations into durable memory; sensitive inferred memory requires your approval before it is saved.

How information is used

We use the limited information available to us to:

• deliver, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the website;
• process purchases, taxes, licenses, downloads, and refunds when applicable;
• answer support, privacy, or early-access requests;
• prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
• comply with law and enforce our agreements; and
• improve Dot using feedback you intentionally provide.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, these activities rely on performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting Dot, compliance with legal obligations, or consent. You may withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the basis, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

How information is disclosed

We may disclose limited personal information to:

• Service providers that host the website, process payments, deliver downloads or email, provide customer support, or protect the service.
• Authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or respond to valid legal process.
• A successor organization in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice where required.
• Parties you direct when you intentionally export, share, sync, or connect information to another service.

We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising. We do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects through automated profiling.

Retention and deletion

• Local application data remains on your device until you delete it, restore a different backup, remove the app’s data, or erase the device.
• Website logs are retained by the hosting provider according to its operational, security, and legal retention periods.
• Purchase records are kept as long as reasonably necessary for fulfillment, fraud prevention, accounting, tax, warranty, dispute, and legal-compliance purposes.
• Support communications are kept while a request is active and afterward as reasonably necessary for continuity, safety, disputes, and legal obligations.

Retention periods depend on the amount, nature, sensitivity, and purpose of the information, the risk of harm, and applicable legal requirements. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed.

Your choices and privacy rights

Dot provides in-app controls to inspect, edit, export, and delete locally stored organizer data. You control whether to configure a local model runtime and whether proposed memory becomes durable.

Depending on where you live and whether local law applies to us, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of personal information we control; to withdraw consent; or to appeal a privacy-request decision. You may also have the right to opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling. Dot does not engage in those activities, so no separate opt-out mechanism is necessary for the current service.

Submit a request using the contact method below. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. If we deny a request, you may ask us to review that decision by replying to the same communication. You may also contact your local privacy or data protection authority.

We generally cannot access or fulfill requests for information that exists only on your device because we do not possess that data.

Security and international processing

Dot reduces risk by keeping ordinary organizer data local and by limiting application permissions and external connections. We and our service providers use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards for information we handle. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, and you are responsible for securing your Mac, operating-system account, local model runtime, backups, and exported files.

Website, payment, download, and support providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those locations may have different privacy laws. Where required, we use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers.

Children

Dot is a general-audience productivity application and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from a child under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to Dot, service providers, or law. We will post the revised policy and update the effective date. If a change materially expands how previously collected information is used, we will provide additional notice or seek consent where required rather than relying only on a quiet edit to this page.
